December is known as “the most wonderful time of the year— there will be parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting and caroling out in the snow? Hearts will be glowing when loved ones are near.” This is truly a wonderful month . There is a lot of hustle and bustle, but underneath it all, the purpose is to share love. What a great intent!
Here at the Madison County Library System, we too share in the season’s delight. We all have lots of wonderful new holiday titles, and books to help with your parties and gift giving. There are many activities happening at the various branches. Check the calendar to find the right program to suit your needs. We have many craft books with children’s projects in them, and we’ll be glad to show them to you when you come in. I know that Santa is about this month. He’ll be at the Ridgeland Library December 4, at 5:00 p.m. He’ll be coming to the Madison Library on December 11 at 5:30.
The Youth Storytelling Club for ages 10 – 16 at the Madison Library was a big success. This is a club that will teach the members to actually tell stories. Diane Williams was just wonderful. There were 17 participants for the first meeting. It’s hard to express what they experienced, but they left with huge smiles and warm hearts. The next kick-off event with Diane will be January 31 at 4:00. I strongly encourage anyone with a child aged 10 to 16 to come to the next event and see what it’s all about.
